With the emergence of the new economy, business activities are increasingly carried out through information and communication technologies. This transformation has increased the demand for qualified human resources in many fields, including accounting. All businesses operating in commercial life require accounting personnel to comply with legal regulations and manage financial transactions. Regardless of the sector, accounting processes constitute a common component of all enterprises. In this context, individuals working in the accounting field are expected to:
The aim of the Accounting and Tax Applications Program is to train qualified intermediate staff who possess both theoretical and practical accounting knowledge required by the business world. In addition to accounting expertise, the program equips students with knowledge in economics, business administration, finance, and taxation. Students are also trained to use accounting and business knowledge efficiently through computer-based applications. Another important priority of the program is to educate graduates who act ethically and consider public interest while performing their professional responsibilities. Graduates of the Accounting and Tax Applications Program can find employment opportunities in Certified Public Accountant (CPA) offices, Sworn-in Certified Public Accountant firms, independent auditing companies, and in the accounting and finance departments of public or private sector organizations. During their education, students take courses such as Financial Accounting, Accounting Software Packages, Management Information Systems, Cost Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Foreign Trade Accounting, Auditing, Tax Accounting, and Tax Law. Through these courses, students learn how to transform business data into accounting information and analyze financial statements to produce meaningful insights that can be presented to relevant stakeholders. Graduates who wish to pursue further academic studies can take the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and continue their education in four-year undergraduate programs such as Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Economics, Business Administration, Logistics, and Accounting and Financial Management. |
