| About Department: The Department of Management and Organization at the Dokuz Eylül University İzmir Vocational School includes the Local Governments Program, established in 1984, and the Health Institutions Management Program, established in 2005. The Department of Management and Organization is a department that provides associate degree education aimed at training qualified intermediate staff in both programs. Within the framework of these two programs, the department offers a multidimensional and comprehensive curriculum suitable for contemporary conditions. The main purpose of the Local Governments Program is to train qualified intermediate staff who will strengthen local administrative structures, considering that they are the administrative units closest to the public in terms of the goods and services they produce. In addition to courses in law, politics, administration, and economics, the program aims to educate young professionals who can advance local governments through professional and practice-based courses. In order to reinforce the knowledge taught in the courses, a mandatory internship of 30 working days is required. Each year, a total of 120 students (60 daytime education and 60 evening education) are admitted to the program. Graduates of the Local Governments Program are awarded the title of “Professional Staff Member.” Graduates may work in governorates, municipalities, district governorships, provincial special administrations, city councils, non-governmental organizations, public opinion research institutions, and various other public and private institutions. The purpose of the Health Institutions Management Program is to train qualified intermediate staff who contribute to the rational production of healthcare services and support developments in healthcare institutions. In addition to courses on medical terminology, law, economics, management, public health, and health policies, the program also includes practical courses aimed at improving professional skills. To support the knowledge gained in the courses, a mandatory internship of 30 working days is required. Each year, 60 students (daytime education) are admitted to the program. Graduates of the Health Institutions Management Program earn the title of “Professional Staff Member.” Graduates have a wide range of employment opportunities in health institutions, including service management, archives, marketing, accounting, human resources, health insurance units of social security institutions, private health insurance companies, and administrative departments of companies involved in health tourism. |
