About Department:
The Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services aims to educate application-oriented, technologically proficient, and versatile tourism professionals who meet the needs of a rapidly digitalizing, globalizing, and experience-driven tourism industry. Our department equips students with the ability to apply and analyze the theoretical knowledge they acquire, preparing them to work in middle and upper management positions in tourism enterprises, to value ethical principles, and to follow and interpret developments in the sector and around the world with confidence. Our department seeks to offer its students not merely a profession, but a career path with international validity.
Education in our department is not confined to the classroom. Through technical visits, field studies, and industry meetings organized at accommodation and food & beverage establishments, tour operators and travel agencies, gastronomy centers, and tourism fairs, students experience tourism on site. This approach enables students not only to learn about the sector, but also to analyze and interpret it.

Established in 1982 within İzmir Vocational School, the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services is a well-established and visionary department that educates 21st-century tourism professionals with a strong focus on sustainability, digital transformation, guest experience, ethical values, and cultural awareness. Our students are prepared for careers that open up to the world.
